On Orchards - Book Presentation with the Robida Collective

It's a great pleasure to have the Robida Collective from the Friaulian mountains again here in the post-glacial valley of Berlin! It's been almost 2 years since the last Robida presentation, which had the theme of Soil, Prst, Suolo. In the newest issue, a collective of more than 60 contributors shine a light on orchards, fruits, and fruit bearing trees. Next to the Magazine, the Robida family will also present a new recipe book and some other publications.

With Robida gang and editors: Vida Rucli, Aljaž Škrlep, Elena Rucli, Dora Ciccone, Ola Korbańska, some of the contributors of the newest Robida issue, and with a tasty intervention by Rebeca Morreo.

The presentation is in english, and admission is free.

Robida is a situated, multilingual cultural magazine published by Robida collective. Each issue explores a topic connected and generated by Topolò/Topolove, the village on the border between Italy and Slovenia where the collective is based.
The eleventh issue of Robida magazine "Orchard Frutteto Sadovnjak", is a collection of essays, photographic explorations, visual narratives, art projects, and poetic texts all centered on the orchard as landscape and fruit trees as powerful metaphors and living archives of stories and memories.

Together with the monographic issue on orchards and fruit trees, Robida also published a small juicy cookbook "Uncommon Fruits for common recipes". During the presentation the editors and authors will present the two publications, sharing its content through words read aloud and bites shared in the room.

Beside these two books, some other freshly printed publications released by Robida will make their appearance in Zabriskie and perhaps, if time will allow, briefly introduced: "Transmissions: Radio Essays on Edges, Crossings and Narrowcasting Borderlands" and "Log: Notes on Building-with".

Robida is an interdisciplinary collective, active since 2014, based in the mountain village of Topolò/Topolove on the border between Italy and Slovenia. At the intersection of architecture, art, theory, radio practices, writing, and community engagement, they explore the relationships between space and its imaginaries, while questioning modes of living in post-rural, minoritarian, and multilingual contexts.
They publish a yearly magazine which explores topics connected and generated by Topolò/Topolove. Since 2015 Robida has explored abandonment, silence, wilderness, islands, forests, soil, correspondences and orchards.
