On 18th April at 7pm we will host the first of a series of reading~listening sessions by the Spree~Channelsea Radio Group, with artists Monaí de Paula Antunes and Kate Donovan. Admission is free.
* Spree~Channelsea Radio Group is a project linking rivers in Berlin and London through creative exchanges and public transmissions between Archipel Stations/Radio Otherwise in Berlin and Soundcamp/ Blanc Sceol In London. In the lead up to the project the Radio Group is planning a series of Reading~Listening sessions which will take place in different locations, focussed around the project themes of rivers, flow, infrastructures and transmission ecologies.
* For the first session, two texts are proposed, and after that, each group will choose one text to read next, and then both selections will be read together. The texts for the first session are: "Aqualiteracies: Thinking-Feeling with Waters and Learning to De/Re-Code Them" by Daniela Medina Poch, and "Fishes Should Not Be Taken from the Deep!" by Chus Martínez, from "Tidaletics: Imagining an Oceanic Worldview through Art and Science".
* The listening dimension of the gatherings won't focus on specific listening exercises. Instead, we would like the sessions as a whole to be attentive to the relational, situated, attuned, and multi-sensorial qualities of listening** – encouraging a collective engagement with ourselves and our surroundings.
To join (and receive the text/s), please contact Monaí de Paula Antunes and Kate Donovan at Archipel Stations/Radio Otherwise: radio@archipel.community
