A Walking Flame - Selected Magical Writings of Ithell Colquhoun

A Walking Flame: Selected Magical Writings of Ithell Colquhoun brings together nearly forty essays by the artist, writer and occult practitioner Ithell Colquhoun, edited by folklorist and Colquhoun scholar Amy Hale.

Exploring Kabbalah, esoteric colour theory, Celtic mysticism and alchemy, these writings reveal the magical thinking that informed Colquhoun’s distinctive surrealist work. Previously scattered across publications and often overlooked, the texts offer a rich encounter with the connections between art, imagination and esoteric practice.
