Gigi Saggi Dance Band - Blob Music - LP

Blob Music is a genre that was invented 4 billion years ago, its origin lying in the rhythmic blobbing sound of the primordial soup. Since then it has never stopped echoing through the rich and chaotic landscape of life itself. It reverberates in painted caves and microbe-heavy guts, sweaty dancefloors and rural-urban commons. It carries the pulsating rhythm of a slime mold decomposing a mushroom and offering it back to the soil. Blob Music is how we became more-than-human after all. It’s the sound oozing out of a carrier bag that we put away and forgot about. A carrier bag filled with an emotional, more-than-human knowledge that reconnects mind and body, nature and culture, dancefloors and utopian politics. Blob Music picks this knowledge up again, for it to fling its multilingual tentacles around you, the careful listener or expressive dancer. Ultimately, in its playful desire to improvise, it is music for earthly survival.
