The 5th book in the CONFIDENS collection. Pierre La Police has created a series of images featuring indescribable forests. It is impossible for us to be precise in our analysis of what is shown, yet it seems clear that it is a statue, a stump or a bird. This is yet another experimental approach by this unclassifiable artist, creating a world of confusion and uncertainty.

Pierre La Police is a pseudonymous Paris-based artist who originated in the underground arts scene and began publishing his work in the 1990s. His comics feature Les Praticiens de l’Infernal ran in the French cultural magazine Les Inrockuptibles from 1994 to 1996. He works across several art forms, from comics to animation to video installations.

The Confidens collection offers a series of drawing books introduced by a text from the artists, granting the reader a glimpse into their intimacy. To ensure its survival in the wild, the human eye perceives more shades of green than any other color. Today, this legacy accompanies us as we dive into this world composed of shapes with a grammar of distorted familiarity, where the uncertainty of what is perceived suggests that we draw no conclusions. It is then a matter of evolving, as our ancestors did, wrapped in this inhospitable yet enchanting environment until we, too, disappear from representation.
