How to See Rivers in Cracks, an invitation to read through softness rather than certainty. It begins where attention loosens, where listening lingers, and where small cracks let the world in.

Written as a shifting sequence of notes, exercises, and reflections, the publication moves through Moerwijk, The Hague, Antwerp, and in-between spaces, tracing how soil, sound, and urban surfaces remain porous and in constant transformation. Cracks are not treated as damage but as openings where relation becomes visible~ where matter, bodies, and environments co-compose one another.

The text resists a fixed interpretation. Instead, it unfolds as an instruction that can be followed, misread, or left open. In this sense, it does not hold itself steady. Without the reader, it does not fully take place, remaining dependent on attention, proximity, and the act of reading itself.

anna andrejew (she/her) is an artist-researcher and care worker with a background in ethnography and permaculture. In a time marked by speed, grief, and loss, her work centers slowness, attention, and care. Her practice explores porosity, tracing how people, materials, and environments meet, overlap, and transform one another. Through site-responsive, often ritualistic interventions, she investigates how art can generate relational spaces, while critically examining how systems of exclusion shape who and what is cared for. Drawing on her exile heritage and material research, she works with listening, collecting, countermapping, writing, and collective practices that unfold over time.
