Vulkan oder Stein

After “Blindschleiche und Riesenblatt” (2010) and “Wiese” (2011) “Vulkan oder Stein” is Anne Schwalbe's third self-published book. It’s about stones. It is also about the sky and the earth, the fire, the river and the sea. “Vulkan oder Stein” is part of the Book and Media Art Collection at Kunstbibliothek Berlin / Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (National Museums) and part of the Special Collections at the Getty Research Institute in LA.   Born in Berlin, graduated from Ostkreuz School for Photography in 2009. In 2010 she self-published her first book: Blindschleiche und Riesenblatt. Her book was selected for the first "Self Publish, Be Happy" Weekend in 2010 at the Photographers' Gallery in London. She participates also at "Publish it Youself" in Paris, at "Offprint" Paris, and "C/O Berlin Bookdays". In 2011 she had an exhibition with "Blindschleiche und Riesenblatt" at Foam in Amsterdam and at the Severed Head Gallery in Dublin. In 2011 she self-published her next book: Wiese, it's about meadows. In 2012 the third book followed: Vulkan oder Stein. Her books are all printed and handmade in Berlin. In 2013 she will exhibit her photographs at Gallery f5,6 in Munich and at limArt in Tokyo.
